I totally believed this as a kid, blew me away. Still an amazing, impressive sequence.

Ray's skeletons

 

Younger Ray with one of his Skeletons. This might be the one from Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, which knocked my socks off as a kid in the mid '70's at a Drive-in in the San Fernando Valley.

 More skeletons, these from Jason and the Argonauts, one of my favorite of Ray's films.

...and a still from Jason, utilizing Ray's puppets. I still think it's amazing he kept track of each of the skeleton's movements and moved all of them frame to frame to achieve this illusion.

 This looks like it was put together for Ray's 90th birthday. A stop motion short called walking the walk. Sorry, but it's in 3D.
I think it's cool.
It's a sad day for me.
