H.P. Lovecraft documentary

Lovecraft was an amazing writer and unfortunately a complete bigot, yet a major influence over writers and artists today, and here's a documentary on the guy.

Outer Limits- OBIT

Here's the pretty cool alien from the OL episode entitled OBIT:

And here's how I ruined it:

Battle: Los Angeles storyboards 015

When I worked on the film, the idea of the aliens using a...pipeline that was filled with sea water to get around was still in play.

I had a McDonald's Big Breakfast today. With OJ. I've been a good boy diet-wise so I feel a little guilty.

Kolchak- The Night Stalker DOUBLE FEATURE!

As all five of you know, I loved the old Kolchak- the Night Stalker series from the early 1970's. As a result, here are the first two TV movies that launched the series. The Night Stalker was about a vampire in Las Vegas, and the Night Strangler was about a man who never grew old. Both very creepy, both very 1970's and both tons of fun! Darren McGavin plays a seedy reporter that uncovers spooky stuff.

Enjoy!

And Here's the Night Strangler:

UPDATE: I saw the previous link was not working and found another. Enjoy.

Outer Limits- Children of Spider County

This was always one of my favorite designs. Here it is on the show:

...and here's my horrible interpretation:

Ugh!

Some Bozo at the Latino Comic Book Expo

Honestly, it was nice to be around a bunch of other Latino artists, Old Schoolers and Kids alike.

Battle: Los Angeles Storyboards 013

Panel 5: "Where's your wallet?"

Predator Poop

Found this during my afternoon walk yesterday.

Broken skull. Jaw. Whole bones. Femur? Maybe bite the head and swallow the meal whole? Field mouse? Rat? Baby rabbit? Gopher? Mole? Lots of long fur. Cat? Coyote? Too urban for a Bobcat.

Miami Vice- In the Air Tonight

Miami Vice is one of my favorite cop shows of all time, along with the original Hawaii 5-0. Vice came along when I was young, and its editing and use of music were then revolutionary for those of us that were used to the plethora of cop shows out there that shot their stories with the camera five feet in the air and with as little set ups as possible. The show ran for a few years, and there were great, okay, so-so and terrible episodes, but nothing equaled the sequence here from the pilot. I know this might look like ordinary stuff today, but this upcoming sequence basically made this show. Oh, and the song from Phil Collins is uber-cool as well.

Battle: Los Angeles storyboards 011

I pitched this as a counterpoint to what I saw as torture of the alien that was found at the police precinct in order to find their bodies' weak point. My idea was met with a great deal of ambivilience, lol.

Here's how that alien looked in the episode:

And here's my interpretation:

I forgot to color in the hand with the same tone as the head. Whatever.

Hieroglyph- Insect Culture

When I was creating the world of Hieroglyph, and later Warhead, I came up with a vague history for the planet, and this image is part of that history.

Storyboard panel of the day 024

The X- Files 20th anniversary Comic Con panel

All five of you know that I am an X-Files nerd, at least through season five and the first film, which I like a lot. The episodes EBE and the flukeman are among my favorites.

Here's the 20th anniversary panel that took place at Comic Con, which I did not go to this year:
