Hieroglyph issue 2 double spread

Trailers for Halloween movies you should see- Robocop (1987)

I HATED this film the first time I saw it, in the '80's before most of you were born, but saw it again and was so impressed with this film. The second one's pretty good but not as good as this one.

"Dead or alive, you're coming with me!"

Okay, this one's totally NOT for kids, by the way.

Hieroglyph issue 3, page 14

It's all about monsters:)

Trailers for Halloween movies you should see- Salem's Lot

This vampire is an homage to the silent film Nosferatu, yet this tv show scared the bejesus out of me as a kid. If you're young and get bored easy, this one starts slow.
Here's the trailer:

Trailers for Halloween movies you should see- Blair Witch Project

I don't scare easy, but this film really creeped me out:

And for those of you who have seen the movie, here's the Scooby Doo version/tribute to the picture:

The Scooby version is really funny.

Enjoy.

Jurassic Park 3 lab scene sketches!

These are just horrible but whatever.

John Romita Spider-Man tribute day 2!

One of my favorite stories. Spidey has to take down the Lizard even though the scaley guy wants to tear Spider-man to pieces. Romita was the master of the 'down shot' or down angle' and used to sign his name in interesting places on the cover, like on the top of this truck.

Just awesome.

Halloween Trailers- Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman

Okay, this was my favorite Universal Monster movie as a kid (there's TWO monsters in this baby) and the finale delivers.

Hieroglyph- Fungi Sentinel

These guys lives waaaayyyyy before the events in Hieroglyph:

WELCOME TO THE JOHN ROMITA SPIDER-MAN COVER FESTIVAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Romita was my favorite Spider-man artist (even thought Steve Ditko was really cool as well) so I thought I'd spend the week by posting some incredible Romita Spidey artwork in addition to my mediocre pencil scratchings.

Okay, HERE WE GOOOO!!!!!

I was six years old when this comic book was published. Scroll to the right to see the final version.

I had salad for lunch:(

Hieroglyph: Issue 3 page...9?

I like all the guys cheering around the edge of the pool, lol.

Trailers for movies you should see: Sanjuro

Sanjuro is the impressive sequel to Akira Kurosawa's Yojimbo. Starring one of the coolest dudes ever in Toshiro Mifune. Mifune was so cool that the Wachowski siblings named a character in the Matrix sequels after him. Look it up, Sanjuro's a treat.

Favorite '80's videos- Take on Me

This was considered pretty cutting edge back then.

Ultraman!

This is all probably because Pacific Rim is being released on video, a picture I really liked and made me think of all the japanese monster movies that I loved as a kid, as if I ever grew up, lol.

Frankenstein Conquers the World!

Why is it that I think that two monsters on a miniature set is a really cool thing?

Lizard Men re-color in progress 02

The Big Fight again

I did this one last Halloween, and thought I'd repost it. Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man is my favorite Universal Horror film.

Thriller Homage

It's almost Halloween, so here's a behind the scenes pic I found online that features Michael Jackson and John Landis, who directed Thriller. I met John on Beverly Hills Cop III and he helped me get into the DGA years later.

...and here's the video, one of my favorites, makeup by RIck Baker, another hero of my childhood. In fact that looks like Baker in this shot.

Here's the shorter version:

The Rockford Files theme

I loved Detective TV shows as I was growing up, and this one was one of my favorites from the '70's. It starred James Garner as a PI with a prison record. Think it was on...Friday nights?

Lizard Men re-color in progress 001

I thought it might be nice to share in this re-color process with all five of you. Here it is:

Olvera Street Dia de Los Muertos charity

When I was at the Latino Comic event a month or so ago, a nice young man came up to me with a flyer and here it is. If you can contribute, then cool:)

Favorite '80's videos: Don't you forget about me

The group was called Simple Minds and the song was in the movie The Breakfast Club.

Star Trek- Deep Space Me

Twenty something me comes up around the 33 minute mark. Laugh all you'd like:)
My students pointed this one out to me, which means I should assign more homework, lol.

Outer Limits- Zanti Misfits

Here's the original, really cool version of one of the most famous of all the Outer Limits monsters:

...and here's my awful version:

Ricardo Delgado invades San Diego Comic Fest!

Some idiot named Ricardo Delgado will be appearing this weekend at the second year for this new Con.

My parents will be with me keeping me out of trouble, so please come by and say hey if you can.

There's beauty all around...

There are times when the difficult aspects of my life make it hard for me to get through the day, then something comes by that brightens me and reminds me to understand that the storms must be weathered and endured to enjoy all that life has to offer.

Storyboard panel of the day 025...whatever.

I'm thinking pizza for lunch.

Cool Test

If you think it's okay for James Bond to wear a clown suit, don't ever come back to this blog again.

Thanks:)
