Two more LA con pics
That's the cover to Age of Reptiles- Ancient Egyptians # 1.
As you can tell, I'm a big fan of the fancy table set-ups used by many comic book artists :)

Yes, a day after Mozart's birthday, this fascinates me.

The coolest post this blog will EVER show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know who did this, but my jaw just dropped.
Wow!
Hey, it's Mozart's birthday!
In honor of that event, here's a scene from Amadeus:
And a little of his requiem, which if you watch the movie you'd sense the irony:

Tim Burton interviews Ray Harryhausen
This interview's a lot of fun. Look at the stop-motion models Ray brought from Earth Vs. The Flying Saucers.
So cool!
I like Burton's films okay, but Ray was the man.

Salieri needs to stop complaining and realize he had it pretty good!
Awesome scene from Amadeus, voted Best Picture in 1984.

Deep Space Nine pic again
This is, I believe, the reverse angle of the set pic posted yesterday, looking out from the hut I designed. I remember going to the Paramount backdrop department with Mike Okuda to pick out the painted backdrop you see at the back of this set. You can see the wrinkle in the painting running out from the middle of the top of the image.

Star Trek-Deep Space Nine set pic
This is a photo of a set that I partially designed for Star Trek- Deep Space Nine in the early nineties. This photo was taken on stage 18 on the Paramount lot. I think Doug Drexler took this pic, or Mike Okuda. The guy in the red shirt staring at the camera is Herman Zimmerman, the production designer who gave me my break on the show.
Don't email me for the name of the episode, I can't remember.

One of my favorite designs from my novel, Sam Specter and the Book of Spells:

Tomb Raider- Chinese tomb
I like the massive terra cotta warriors, which is funny since I worked on the mummy 3 years later, which also featured them.
This drawing stinks.
