Another Age of Reptiles page color study

I sometimes write notes on the pages. It probably drives the colorist crazy. He's very patient.

Costa Rican Soccer- La Liga/Heredia Championship penalty kicks

Okay, so after two games it came down to penalty kicks for the Costa Rican championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great way to win, tough, tough way to lose.

Coldplay's Viva La Vida

One day, when you're older, you'll remember all this and know how much your dad loved you :)

Another lousy Jurassic Park 3 drawing

Sometimes you don't know how much influence you might have on a film until you see your ideas on the screen, like in this drawing.

Or, you don't know how hungry you are until you have a sandwich and soup for lunch like I did today:)

A Costa Rican Christmas Tamale Story

YUM-YUM!

This is a Costa Rican Tamale, which I had today for breakfast at my parent's house. It was made from scratch by my brother's mother-in-law, Dona Eliett. Wrapped in a banana leaf, this baby features veggies, chicken and goes great with coffee during the Christmas season.

These type of tamales are Central American in style, with the more familiar Mexican tamales being housed in a corn husk, these tamales are more...Mayan style, if that makes any sense.  From the Yukatan on down through Central America, this is what the tamales are like. A little further North in Mexico, they appear with the corn husk and less veggies, but still good too!

Good grief these are delicious :)

You're a mean one, Mister Grinch

Always loved this song!

Another lame Age of Reptiles page

Now we digress from some cool videos to some lame art...

Clouseau and the castle

Lol!

Favorite '80's videos- Rock the Casbah by the Clash

When you're young you accept a lot of things easily, and while this still is a cool song, I came to the realization that a bunch of the 80's videos are really funny/weird, lol.

This is a cool song, though.

Costa Rican Soccer- Heredia vs. La Liga Deportiva Alajuelense

So, La Liga, which is from alajuela, Costa Rica, the town where my family is from, won the title last night on penalty kicks! No youtube videos of that match yet, but here's some highlights from 2012 to keep you happy until then!

You may think, "Costa Rica's a nice, peaceful country. Their soccer rivalries couldn't be that bad?"

Hm. See below :/

Good grief.

Age of Reptiles page value study/sample

Starting with The Journey and continuing through these days, I've started to do these value studies for my lame stories and thought I'd share one today.

Favorite '80's videos- Dancing in the Dark by Bruce Springsteen

...I was never a Springsteen fan, but I like this song.

Hieroglyph- Worshipper 4

I have a few really old coins from around the world, and they inspired this piece.
As did the Oreo cookie:)

Batman Begins Tumbler chase

My favorite Superhero films are:

1) Superman (1978)
2) Avengers
3) Batman Begins.

This is one of my favorite scenes in Batman Begins, and the Tumbler is just ridiculously cool here.

'Stop posting Age of Reptiles pages! They're annoying!'

Okay:)

Peter O' Toole and Lawrence of Arabia

O' Toole passed away yesterday so I thought I'd post one of my favorite scenes from one of the best movies ever made.

Here's a trailer for Lawrence. If you've never seen this film...shame on you.

Hieroglyph- Issue 2, page 22

I'm thinking some kind of salad for lunch....

Cota Rican soccer- La Liga Deportiva Alajuelense vs. Saprissa

Today La Liga, the team from my family's town of Alajuela. They face off against Heredia tonight, but here's some highlights from earlier against their most hated foe, Saprissa from San Jose.

Dewback/stormtrooper diorama

I found this on the web. I don't know who did it, but wow is this cool! I need to mention that I have the Dewback and Stormtrooper at home, they are made by Sideshow toys, but I saw this and thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Today.

If you don't like this, go away.

Canyon of the Crescent Moon

If you don't know which Indy movie this is from, go away. Please:)

My favorite dragons!

Okay, so the Hobbit 2's coming out today, and I'm all excited! So to honor the occasion, here are my favorite movie dragons:

The Dragon from 7th Voyage of Sinbad was the first dragon I ever saw in a movie and is still my favorite of all time.

Vermithrax Pejorative from Dragonslayer was also an early favorite.

More recently, the Fell Beast, or the Witch King's Dragon from the Lord of the RIngs films, was pretty cool, I thought. Too bad he hegts his head cut off!

...and there's the classic Disney Dragon from Sleeping Beauty.

Can't wait to see Smaug in all of his glory!

I had a burger for lunch and I feel guilty:(

EDIT: I forgot to add the Eborsisk, a two-headed dragon from Willow. This guy's cool as well!

If you get to see Smaug, he's reaaalllly cool.  Saw the movie this weekend. Lots of fun!

Let's go on It's a Small World

Enjoy:)

Age of Reptiles- the Journey double page spread

Bla, bla, bla....

Servant Prime in both Hieroglyph and Warhead

Here is Servant Prime on one of my silly pages for Hieroglyph, above, and below on the cover of my lame novel Warhead.

More AOR color sheets from the Journey

I know these color schemes are even more worse than my usual low standards, but they do the job once they get tot he colorist:)

Micky Mouse Club 1950's intro

I remember watching this in the 1970's.

Nevermore 2: Electric Boogaloo

The raven was back yesterday, but I did not have time to post. It's a big bird (no Pau Gasol pun intended) and clearly not afraid of me.

Ultraman!

Okay as a little kid I looovvvveeeed Ultraman. Loved the suit, loved the monsters and loved the intricate miniature sets that they fought on.

Here's a sampling. Enjoy!

From Russia WIth Love Train Fight

One of the best scenes from one of my favorite 007 films.

This is rated NFK (not for kids) by me.

Nevermore

Saw this guy this morning. The pic does not do it justice, it's a HUGE raven.

Hieroglyph issue I dunno page who cares?

"Hang on Lady, We're going for a ride."

If you don't know which Indiana Jones movie this is from, then go away.

favorite '80's videos- You Can Call me Al by Paul Simon

One of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums of all time. As a lyricist, Simon has few peers, to me. Note Chevy Chase in the video above, and here's  the song below, played live:

Goal of the week (or in this case, 15 of them)

Hieroglyph- Worshipper 3

I should have had the green tea instead of coffee this morning.

Mickey Mouse in Runaway Brain

Made in 1995, just before I started at the studio, this is one of my favorite Mickey shorts. Enjoy.

Go away if you didn't know that:/
