Outer Limits- The Mice

Here's the cool monster from the episode entitled 'The Mice':

And here's my awful version:

My Mice monster's been having issues with his feet fungus and he's very sensitive about it, thank you very much.

Battle: Los Angeles storyboards 041

Okay, I lied about the last board being the last one, but it looks like we're getting close to the end, lol.

Trailers for movies you should see: The Goonies

If you have not seen this movie, well, you're on the wrong blog.

"La Vida supido."

That's what Indy says to the dude who tried to run away with the idol at the beginning of Raiders. The line is spanish, and it means, loosely, "He knew life."

Sadly I would know this whether I knew spanish or not, such an Indy nerd am I.

MY DODGERS CLINCH THE WEST!!!!!!!!!

Clearly this is not gonna go over well in Arizona.

Brazilian Soccer mayhem:)

One of the coaches runs OFF THE BENCH, out onto the field and blocks shots on goal!!!!!

I like how he kicks the ball away so he won't get called for hands, LOL!

Then, well, he runs for his life:)

Battle: Los Angeles storyboards 036

This is what happens when you try to deliver a pizza in our neighborhood, lol.

This might be one of the last few panels from BLA (get it? bla?)

Favorite '80's videos: La Bamba

A pretty cool video back in the day, from one of my favorite bands.

Battle: Los Angeles storyboards 029

Okay I lied:)

Chuck Jones' Rikki Tikki Tavi

Here's a treat. Chuck Jones, the classic Bugs Bunny director, created this network special in the mid 1970's, and here it is, in three parts.

Enjoy!

No, none of my stupid artwork today.

Orphan Train by Norman Rockwell

I saw the original for this painting hanging in the walls of Amblin' Entertainment when I was working on Men In Black in the mid '90's. I was told that back then, trains with orphans would go from town to town, and families could adopt kids from those trains into their families.  Just a powerful, moving, sobering image for me.

Hieroglyph, issue 1 page 12

Lawrence of Arabia on another planet, lol. I like the statue on the top panel. It's a Sentinel. This pyramid is described in one of the chapters in Warhead, a novel you can find here:

Me, My Dad and John WIlliams

My Dad took me to see John WIlliams at the Hollywood Bowl a few weeks ago, and as all five of you know, I'm strangely obsessed with Mr. Williams' music since he scores most of my favorite films of all time, and I can't tell you how much of a treat it was to sit with my Dad and listen to Mr. Williams' music as the night fell over the Hollywood Hills.

They played a tribute to Henry Mancini before the intermission, then got serious and played lots of Indy and Star Wars stuff, along with some ET, but no Jaws, Close Encounters, Jurassic Park or Harry Potter.
They played Marion's theme from Raiders, as well as the IMperial March and Yoda's theme from Empire, but most of the magic that night involved a son sitting with his dad and listening to the music that made his career and yet in a Peter Pan kind of way kept the child inside him alive to this day:)

Dad, I appreciate all that you've done for me throughout the years, and even today, and I thank you for  all of the love, counsel and guidance you've given me.

May the Force be with you, always.

Love,

Ricky

Battle: Los Angeles storyboards 025

More autopsy/torture board panels.

I skipped over a few panels because this is a good one.

This is what happens to my pasta when I add too much garlic:)

Favorite 80's video's: Dead Man's Party

This song is uber-cool...

Storyboard panel of the day 026 (whatever!)

Battle: Los Angeles Storyboards 019

I think these are from the autopsy sequence, which became the 'let's torture an alien' sequence.
