Ray and Gwangi

Yes, that's the Gwangi puppet on Ray's desk.
Even the puppet is cooler than yours truly:)

It's Halloween Time (almost!)

I've decided I have not given enough presence on these pages to my first novel, Sam Specter and the Book of Spells, and given that the Halloween season is nearly upon us, I thought I'd give some images and insight to the visual aspect of the novel, the cover and chapter headings. If you have any kids at home or in your life, I recommend this story for them, or for yourself, if you are a fan of Ray Bradbury or It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I'm going to post some of the raw scans from my sketchbooks in order to explain how the complex cover and interior artwork were created. Here's a rough of the background of the cover:

Warning, this story is a hard-bitten film noir story and is rated NFK, not for kids.

Hulk Storyboards- The Monday Edition

I worked for Marvel Animation a few years ago, storyboarding on an animated Hulk TV show, and I'm going to post some storyboards from the show here this week:

I've storyboarded for film, tv and animation, both feature and TV, and I'm going to state that boarding for TV action animation is the hardest kind of storyboarding there is. Hard, hard work.

Apotheosis Wednesday!

I'm not master of this world, much less two, but it's sure satisfying to walk into a comic book store anonymously, pick up a copy of my own comic book and feel good about a story that is behind me now, a story I like, and I look forward to the Age of Reptiles stories to come~

Age of Reptiles- Ancient Egyptians 4 out today!

The last issue is out today, and it's good to have this story behind me in the sense that it was a unique storyline, in my opinion, and explained to me that all story possibilities in this format are possible.

It's a Mummy 3 chariot!

There's nothing like drawing up-side down horses out of your head to make you feel like your career is being fulfilled, lol.

Age of Reptiles- The Body, page 6 value study

This is where the I felt the series took a big step, where my experience in animation art direction began to combine with my comics stuff, and I really began to see the pages realized closer and closer to what I imagined them to be.

Drawings still stink, though:)

Yep it's another AOR-AE review!

Lots of fair thoughts in THIS review, though I do prefer Ricardo to Richard, lol.

For the record, this is the worst drawing that humanity's ever produced, and I am responsible for it.

AORAE news / issue 4 review

Due to printing issues, issue four of Ancient Egyptians will not be available until September 16th.
Apologies for the delay and hope none of you went to the comic book store in vain.
Dark Horse Comics and I only want the best product and story out there, so this decision was made with that in mind. I did not know the actual day until yesterday and wanted to update all five of you asap. I believe the digital version is available now, but I always prefer a comic book that I can hold in my hands :)

I'd also like to take the opportunity to announce that I am working on another Age of Reptiles series, with the hope of getting it out sooner than later :)

Lastly, here's another Issue 4 review, please click link HERE to read.

Thanks for your patience through this,

Ricardo Delgado
